Dancing Classes Oh My!!!!

Healing Flo encourages others to dive into creative expression so before we can encourage a particular activity we must try it out ourselves, right? So, my husband and I took a Detroit Ballroom Dancing Class and we absolutely loved it!!!!! We had the most amazing instructors..Ms. Jaye and Ms. Constance and boy did they have their work cut out with me and my husband but we managed to get pass having two left feet and really learned the basic movements. Class starts at 7:00p.m. but we didn’t leave until 10:00 p.m. I was sweating and laughing by the time we were finished. This is a EXCELLENT way to relief stress, drop pounds, connect with great people, and HAVE FUN. If you are in the metro Atlanta area try them out!!! As we progress in this class I will blog on it and share pictures!!!! So excited and make sure you join us.. The first lesson had me when the instructor told me I must follow my husband..Life lesson #1 Learn how to follow your husbands lead…so powerful

Back 2 School Oh My!!!

It is time for you and you to get as active as possible in your children’s lives. As the school year starts up, Healing Flo is encouraging all parents, aunts, and uncles to get involved in your children’s or family members school this year. You voice counts and it needs to be heard. Make sure you follow this quick top 5 list of things to help your children become well rounded and grounded..
1). Attend ALL PTA meetings: Even join the board if necessary but make sure you are active and involved. Don’t be afraid to speak up about anything and remember your opinion counts
2). Volunteer at the school and in your child’s room. Teachers might not want you up in their room 24/7 but we encourage you to make your presence known. Volunteer at least once a week.
3). Don’t expect the TEACHERS to teach your children everything they need to know. Look up the standards and when you observe the classroom ask for a copy of the daily lesson plan. Check out https://www.georgiastandards.org and look up the curriculum maps and standards for each grade level. Know what your child’s teacher should be teaching your child and make sure you are going over concepts at home!!!
4). Put your children in extracurricular activities. Extended care at the daycare doesn’t count! Look out for updates on scholarships for students for swimming, dance, and music lessons and if you know of any budget friendly programs or scholarships out there please email us @ info@healingflo.org or attach in the comment area..
5). Make sure you spend more time with your children. I can not express the need for you to put down all electronic, distractions and just spend time talking to your children…. T.V’s and other electronics can not raise your babies.
I pray that this semester will be the best ever for you and your children!!!
